I just finished my 99.5 dozen Valentine's Day cookies. I pride myself in the fact that the last one looks as good as the first one!! Now to get them OUT OF HERE!!! They sure smell good!

Holy cow......how long did that take you.....I did 67 dozen once and it took me what seemed like forever!! Great job!
Sugar_Plum_Fairy 2/13/07 at 2:18pm
Better you than me! Besides I wouldn't have any place to put them. They look great though.

I started baking them Saturday, did that for about 8 hours, then finished them up on Sunday for about 4 hours, then started decorating them Sunday night for about 2 hours, then all day yesterday and for about 6 hours today. I don't look forward to holidays very much any more...people are always looking for an excuse to get a cookie!!

Yes, someone had the nerve to have a birthday in the midst of all these cookies!! And now today I am back to doing cakes, I am making three cakes today, six tomorrow, four on Saturday....as long as people keep having birthdays I will have a JOB...guess that is called Job Security!!

Holy Bajoley! (that's a technical term we use at our house ;) ) I am inspired!

They look great! How do you use buttercream without them smearing or sticking to each other when stacking them?
Candy120 2/21/07 at 9:26pm
I guess the way I make the buttercream is "crusty" enough that I just wait about an hour or so and then stack them and they do fine.
JoMama 2/24/07 at 7:24am
99 1/2 dozen? Did someone actually order in the 1/2 dozen? I understand what you mean about not looking forward to holidays. I have a "big girl" job, as well, so, there are some sleepless nights around holiday times.
