Great cake....When I print my edible images and apply with piping gel they wrinkle. How did you get yours so smooth?

I applied my edible image over freshly iced buttercream. I usually try to remove the edible from the backing paper before I ice the cake, so there is no wait to place it on the fresh icing. After I have it placed on the icing, I gently run my hand over it to smooth into the icing and make sure there are no bubbles!
