My daughter loves dinosaurs! This was my idea for a more girly version of a dinosaur birthday cake. I baked a flower vase in the center of the volcano, and when it was time to light the candles I put dry ice and warm water in the vase, giving the whole cake an erupting effect! The cake was strawberry "lava", covered in bright red butter cream, the dinosaurs were plastic figurines, the sand was brown sugar and the rest of the details were made of fondant.
