Made for my family reunion, the image is our family crest. Tried to do a royal icing transfer, but the pattern was too delicate to do it without breaking. Did a transfer of the outline, and freehanded the rest right onto the cake. Held my breath the whole time, black and red leave no room for mistakes! The cake is large, used four 9x13 cakes. Roses handmade from gumpaste/fondant, no cutters. Cake covered in Fondariffic buttercream fondant (tasted great!), borders piped in buttercream, letters done with gumpaste and tappits, crest done with royal icing.
