Last minute, family order from my mother, who doesn't think she needs to pay for cakes! I was very tired and VERY bitter and grumpy while doing the cake. I think I would have been happier if I had done it with fondant. Gold airbrush.

I think so too!!! Also with my family, I tell them the actual cost to make the cake and what I would have sold it for.... then I let them decide on what they want to pay. But I ask for at least what I paid to make it.... This way I get my money back and maybe some extra.... Hop that helps! :)

Oh my goodness! I have to make this identical castle in April when my brother in law returns from Afghanistan - I was told his would be red. Great Job!

Thank you Kitagrl and Susie-Cakes. I did tell her I wouldn't touch it for ANYONE else for a penny less than $350 and I let her choose my compensation...She's my mom! And Linss, EVERYTHING else was red in the whole room, lol! And it shows up bronze or gold in all the badges and jewelry and patches, so I decided on gold. It REALLY popped on the red table tops! I don't know how big you need yours, but you can PM me for the sizes I used if you need 100 servings!

Hi, I think this looks great! I'm just wondering how you did the crenellations at the top, did you cut them from the cake? I was thinking of doing a castle cake for my daughter's b-day and trying to figure out what method I should go with. Thanks!
