Very nice job! It looks very time consuming. I'm sure whoever received the cake was thrilled!
    SweetBeas 12/14/10 at 3:05pm
Thanks Bellalex...the little girl was thrilled and her and the other kids thought it was a toy castle

what sizes of cakes did you use? :?
    SweetBeas 12/29/10 at 10:09pm
Hi JacMc17, I used 9 inch hexagon wilton pan for bottom tier, 6 inch round for middle tier and 6 inch hexagon pan for top tier. Completed the cake measured 28 inches tall. :)

Amazing! What did you use to shape the top?
    SweetBeas 1/2/11 at 6:28pm
Hi Gitana, I molded crispy treats in the cone shape, covered it in buttercream and placed fondant shingles all the way around to the top. Most time consuming part of this cake. Thanks for looking

SweatBeas I love this cake! You are so talented. I have to do this for my neice. How did you do the stone imprinting? Did you buy a mat? They look like different sizes. :D
    SweetBeas 1/4/11 at 12:52am
Hi ClassyCakebyChristina, I did use an imprint mat on all the tiers. I used larger stone imprints on bottom tier and smaller imprint on middle and top tier. :)

Thanks! Did you have three layer cakes? You said the cake was about 28" tall, so was that about 6" cakes?
    SweetBeas 1/7/11 at 11:19pm
Classycakebychristina, yes the cake tiers were each about 6 inches tall.

This is amazing! I haven't stacked a cake this high yet. Do you use columns with attached plate to stack the two top layers? Thanks! :D

Beautiful job, Sweetbeas. I really want to make my daughter's cake next weekend, but this is a tad intimidating. Great job. One question. Did you place the roof one small tab at at a time?
    SweetBeas 1/28/11 at 11:10pm
@mindyi- I only used dowels between each tier with a center dowe. Most important, is to make sure each tier is absolutely level. @candieb- Yes, I did do the roof one tab at a time. The most time consuming part of this cake. Btw, you should definitely try it out. Your daughter will love it! l

how much for a cake like this but smaller?
    Laverina 2/26/11 at 8:43am
We love this design. My little sister is turning four years old and is overly obsessed with the Disney movie, Tangled. When we saw this cake you made, we knew we had to do it. But we had a question about how much Krispy Treats you used for the top? :? If you could get back to me as soon as you can, that would be great :D

How far in advance did you make this cake? How long did it take?
    SweetBeas 3/7/11 at 9:05pm
So sorry, I haven't been on cake central for a while. From what I remember I used about 16 crispy treats for the roof. And as far as how much in advance did I make the cake. I baked the cake 3 days ahead of time. 2 days before I filled and buttercreamed and the day before I covered it in fondant, stacked and decorated. it. :)
