This was for a 10th birthday party for a friend's little girl. I used Chyanna66's basic instructions and design from this site. The little girl requested the green color. I used chocolate marshmallow fondant and placed each scale individually (820 of them!). I brushed the whole thing with gold pearl dust. The wings are made of gumpaste.
