"mary Frances" Purse Cake
Made for a woman who loves Mary Frances purses. I had no idea what those were 'til I did an internet search. This is my interpretation of a cross between a MF purse, and an MF pillow called "Bed of Roses." Chocolate cake and icing, black fondant covering the cake, and all fondant details, painted with copper, pink or green luster dust. I loved making this cake.
looks fantastic!
Can you please pm me on how you made this cake? Particularly what size cakes you used and how you assembled it on the board to stand upright. It is truly striking!
Fantastic cake. The roses look very cool--I love the colors.
Wow, that's beautiful!
Wow, lovely handbag. Love the colors, the roses, the bag frame, clasp and straps.
Thanks, everyone. And sorry, DiscoLady -- I didn't see your question before. This was just an 8" square cake, cut into 3 pieces, each slightly narrower than the other. Stacked on top of each other with icing in between layers, then carved into a purse shape. I used skewers to hold it all upright. Covered with fondant. Any other questions, PM me.
