Thank you all for such nice comments. I truly enjoyed making this cake. Jess1019 – I’ve prepared pieces in advance and it took me around 2 hours to “wave” the basket. Lyndim – “Cake Journal” cake was one of the inspirations, but I’ve used some different techniques here. AnaToplin – I’m very slow and I spent three long evenings (from 7pm until midnight) putting together this puppy. :oops:

OMG. Of course you used a different technique than Cake Journal's! Your basketweave is not a piece of embossed fondant, is it? Did you do it in pieces? It looks like the real thing.
