Thanks! I did use candy melts for the bottom of the giant cupcake. I rolled out fondant and let it dry a bit and then used Martha Stewarts cupcake punch. The punch I used had the top of the cuppy separate from the bottom so I was apple to mix the colors. Thanks for looking!
I melted half the bag and then applied it with a paint brush. Then I put the pan in the freezer to let the candy set up. Melted the rest of the candy melts, took the pan out of the freezer, applied a second layer and put it back in the freezer. It comes right out of the pan once its set.
Very cute - but I'm confused. Did you paint the melted candy melts directly onto the cake, or on the inside (or outside?) of the pan? If you painted the pan, how did you get the cake into it? I'm sorry if this is obvious to everyone. I just really like the look, but don't know quite how you achieved it!
Really cute! I've had trouble when coloring candy melts. The texture changes rather quickly. Did you use gel color? If so, did you too encounter a thickening/clumping of the chocolate? Thanks
Super cute! How did you color the candy melts? I've had trouble using the gel colors because the chocolate seems to change texture rather quickly. Thanks.
