Kindergarten Harvest Cake

This cake was for my great nephew's "harvest" kindergarten party today. I had total creative freedom on this cake except that his mom really wanted the icing to be sky blue. I thought that was pretty bizarre, but I'm happy she insisted, because in the end, although it didn't make sense, I think it really worked. Much of this cake (the body of the scarecrow, the chicken, the sign, and the curly vines) were all inspired by the many cakes (possibly hundreds) I researched on CC, Flickr, and my favorite blogs before making this cake. Everything is edible except Miss Amanda's sign post.
