This cake is a "slice" of the track ;-) The black track portion was made with crushed Oreo cookies. The white track line was made from crushed peppermint lifesavers. The shot put was made from rice crispy treats, covered in fondant then made to glisten with luster dust. The relay baton was made from gum paste and the sparkle again comes from luster dust. The stop watch is sporting a new school record time from the season and was made from gumpaste and the strap from strawberry string liquorice. The clip board base and clip were both created from gumpaste ~ the base is wood grain. The paper on the clip board is made from waffer paper and decorated with food coloring markers. EVERYthing on this cake is edible.
