this cake is made from a round 12inch sponge cake. i used brown fondant icing rolled into strips and then woven together around the cake to form a basket look. i then rolled various colours of fondat icing into lengths and made balls of wool, to make the buttons etc i pressed a bit of flower paste icing into my large coat button to create the top of a button and just cut round the button edge. To make the tape measure i used flower paste icing rolled out thin , then cut into a thin ribbon , then using a tape measure or ruler i copied the measurements (not precise) but making it look abit real. this cake was excellent to make and my customer didnt want to cut into it. she just wanted to look at it all the time .
