I made this for a 50th birthday. I was told to make white cake, chocolate frosting and decorate with pink... this is what I came up with. The cake is vanilla cake with a chocolate fudge frosting, covered with a chocolate fondant (by Duff). This was the first quilting I've done. It was difficult to cover this 12 x 18 with fondant. It's decorated with gold dragees and the flowers are pink gumpaste carnations dusted with gold luster dust. The rope border is fondant brushed with luster dust as well.
