This is a cake I just did for the Smithsonian to celebrate the 100th anniversary of there building. The cake weighed close to 400 pounds and was 5 feet long and 2 1/2 feet high. It took six guys to get it out of the cargo van and up into the Rotunda where the event was held. Since I had to transport the cake over 300 miles I had to build a special frame to ensure that the cake would be secure while it was traveling. I used a combination of fondant and pastillage to create the brick walls and building details.
