I used a cutter for the polka dots though. I added "fur" to the characters by using a clay tool and making marks. I can't take any credit for this design though, because I've seen it numerous times here on Cake Central - a wonderful website for inspiration!
Oh my Gosh, thank you for all the wonderful comments. I made all the characters by hand with an X-acto knife, no cricuit or cutters. I used a Sesame Street colouring book to make templates (out of cardstock), then cut the characters out of a half fondant, half gum paste mix (so that it doesn't stretch as much while cutting). :0)
my son's second birthday party is in 2 weeks and I had already picked out a sesame street cake to do, and you just changed my mind! I hope you don't mind, but i am copying this!!!! awesome! just awesome!
Zespri, nothing on the other side of the cake, just more polka dots, sorry to disapoint, lol. RonnieG, I don't mind at all if you copy it, I got my idea from someone here at Cake Central too, Jaklotz1, GoonerGirl, and Milliegonza did the cake and posted it here first on Cake Central, so really I copied them too. Thanks everyone!
