In community album: Fishing / Hunting
My son wanted a fishing hunting cake for his 11th bday. So I went a little farther and made it a wilderness camping cake. We have 3 golden retrievers so I added a golden to it. All edible except, boat, fishing gear, chair, boy, and animals. I bought the animals at Michaels and the boy and fishing stuff at hobby lobby in doll house section. For me it was much easier to buy them then try to sculpt out of fondant. It is 1/2 sheet cake.I made the tent out of rice krispies with mmf covering, the cattails are spaghetti noodles with mmf, the trees are chocolate covered pretzel rods with icing, along with wood on fire, dock is a thick layer of chocolate with little pretzel sticks and another thick layer of chocolate. I even made him a marshmallow on a stick and hotdog, they are spaghetti noodles with fondant. The rocks are those chocolate candy rocks. I sprinkled the ground with chocolate candy crunch for the dirt appearance. I put the bears next to two salmon made with choc from mold.
