My favorite cake of the week!!!! Iam LOVING RICE KRISPT TREATS!!! I made the lid out of treats, it was sooo light and easy to work with!!!!! Chocolate coins, real toy jewelry, fondant accents, 9x13 cake cut in half and stacked!
The lid id made from rice krispy treats!!! I just molded them on a board while they were warm, left out overnight. The botttom is a 9x13 cut in half then stacked, iced in brown, used a comb to form the lines and trimed in fondant that I painted with gold dust and vodka!
What is it iced with? How did you keep it from showing all the bumps of the rice krispies and how did you keep it from sinking in between the krispies?
boween, this is sooo cool. I had a regift party to go to in January and I was going to make a treasure chest....I hope you wouldn't mind if I used your idea...KUDOS!!!

I need to do a treasure chest cake for this weekend. RK Treats! awesome idea
Fantastic cake! How did you get the lid to stay open?
There is two dowels in the cake towards the front about an 1/2 in stiking up, however you want your lid to be open!
Absolutely beautiful, this is an amazing cake.
What kind of pan did you use for the lid? It turned out great!
beautiful!
looks great :)
love it! how did you do it?

That is an awsome cake but how many batches of rice krispies did it take I have been looking for a cake for my son and this one is perfect
one batch of rice krispies.
such a wonderful cake!
Fantastic cake but what are rice crispy treats? from UK
Rice Krispy treats are made with butter, marshmellows and Rice Krispy ceral. For a sculpted part of a cake I don't use the butter in the recipe.
Great cake thanks for showing us how its done!
