That is a great idea! Let me see if I get this right...stamped like you would with a stamp pad?!!! Amazing! I wish I would have though of that!

These are beautiful! I have to try this! Did it stamp really clean most of the time?

Thank you for your comments. I found that rolling out the fondant nice and thin gave me a nice even surface for stamping. I used a small piece of foam as a stamp pad and poured a bit of my gel paste mixture on it and then stamped just like a stamp pad. The little pink hearts are royal icing, but the rest was stamped, it worked really well.

Hi, fionlimOOOO, I ordered the stamp from the internet (ebay) people custom make them for about $10.00. When I was done with the stamp I gave it to the bride and she used it on envelopes for her thank you's.

I love these cookies! Does anyone know if it's possible to stamp directly onto royal icing or glace, or if you have to use fondant?
donkeemom 8/25/10 at 8:57pm
I did try a few on royal icing, but if it is not perfectly smooth you won't get an even impression. I found that the fondant gave the most consistant results. I also tried it on frosting sheep

oops  that was supposed to say frosting sheets, that worked too.

so cute!! Did you have to let the fondant harden before you stamped it? those are very cleanly stamped....how in the world did you not get any smudging?
donkeemom 8/26/10 at 9:23am
Thanks all for the kind comments. And yes, Ks Cakes09 I did let the fondant disks dry after cutting them out. As for the smudging
