Christening Cake

Christening Cake on Cake Central

I made this cake for my 1st Sons Christening, It is a rich chocolate mud cake, the recipe was handed down to me by my late mother in law. When the cake was ready to ice, I placed the top tear on a cake board of the same size and iced using RTR icing. After icing the bottom tier I used 4 cake skewers in the bottom cake to support the top cake. The polka dots, bear, booties and blocks were prepared weeks in advance. The blocks are made of polystyrene then covered with icing. The polka dots, letters and bear are all made out of RTR icing using letter cutters and round cookie cutters for the dots. When the cake was iced, I stuck the dots on using sugar syrup. Which is made up of ¼ cup sugar & ¼ cup water, and boiling together. I rolled out more icing for the bow and blanket under the bear. I loved making this cake for my little man, and now make cakes for friends and relatives.
