Baptism Cake

This is a cake I made in my first Royal Icing course last year. The cake was made with a holly hobby on top, but I wanted to have a few different cakes to show in my webpage and at the time i had very few. So i made this baby. The head of the baby was made with a homemade mould. I bought a little ceramic doll and cast it using some type of gel designed to make moulds, when it was ready i just used coloured fondant, and when it was dry i coloured her face and hair. The blanket is made with gumpaste.

I like it..it is very well done..did you make the flowers too ? did you use a lace mold for the blanket or textured rolling pin ? very nice.. love th soft color.

Mahal, yes I did make the flowers this was my very first flower arrangement, the blanket and pillow were made out of gumpaste i rolled them onto a plastic doily to get the pattern. :lol: :lol: ;-D
