This is a cake that I did last halloween. The intestines are made from homemade marshmallow, bones are roulade cake, ribs are gumpaste, orgins are fondant covered redvelvet cake, maggots are white chocolate truffles (hand rolled in shape of maggot), face and main body is cake and molded rice treats covered with moldeling chocolate and fondant, The entire cake is airbrushed, covered with red and green piping gel, and steamed for a wet look. Very creepy to make!!!!!!!

I have included step by step photos for anyone that would like to try making this type of cake. Keep in mind that you should not work on this cake at night like I did, will give you the creeps!

I displayed this cake on butcher paper smeared with red color. also ground cookie crumbs (dirt), and gumpaste leaves.

This is absolutely one of the most realistic looking cakes Ive ever seen. I have to ask..did it get eaten? Or were people just too grossed out?

It was eaten (by a brave few), however I did include the same desserts that were used, seperate in their normal state for those that did not feel adventurious enough to dig in to a body. The same client is in the process of booking again for this year, we are going to go bigger and better!
