I did this cake for my niece and nephew's birthday. They are twins and it gets difficult fitting their tastes into one cake, so I decided to surprise them with a "fun" cake. My nephew loves pirates and my niece loves mermaids, so this design fit. It was a lot of fun to make. I am not completely happy with the mermaid, but it works. She was rather frustrating to make ... I liked her tail and hair though .. hehe. The cake itself was marble with vanilla BC filling.
