First Communion

Lots of lessons learned with this cake. This was a chocolate cake dirty iced with marshmallow creme, it was suppose to be like a chocolate Hostess creme filled cupcake. And it was, however I would suggest never coating your cake with marshmallow creme and then trying to put fondant on top of it. The creme just kept falling down the sides of the cake underneath the fondant, making it look extremely bumpy and saggy, even after refrigeration. The bottom border is actually small fondant roses that I accentuated (after this picture of course) with rose colored pearl dust. The flowers are made of royal icing.
