Let's Play Legos!!
A fun birthday cake... Themed afte Lego building blocks. The Green Base Board was Vanilla cake with a Bavarian Cream filling. The Blue and Red Building Blocks were baked in mini-loaf pans and the Yellow block was a small square pan.
I used the pre-packaged primary colors pack of Fondant from Wilton... I found it to be very wet and hard to roll out w/o sticking, but we got through it.
How cool is this cake???? Love it.... the colors, the originality, everything!!!
i bet the kiddies got a kick out of that....great job!

Really adorable. Nice work !! Maybe if you kneaded more powdered sugar into the fondant it wouldn't be ''sticky''?? Also keep adding when rolling it out. It's still a great cake!!!
What an original idea! I love it!
This is soo cute! Did you come up with this yourself or did you find instruction somewhere. My neice's boys are having a joint b-day party in March and this would be soo cute for their party! Very clever, love it!
I hate wilton fondant, for many reasons, next time try MMF there is a recipe on here, its perfect for beginers cause it is easy to make and easy to use. But this cake is soooooo cute! I love it!
That is so great! I love it!
Thanks for all the compliments!!! I have been wanting to try MMF I will try that next. The idea just came from looking at other lego type cakes. I covered each piece in the fondant let it dry a bit, then stacked the cakes.
what a great idea. I love it
Super!!! What did you use for the ...whatchmacallits?? the round parts that make them hook together...I'm sure they have a name...anyway- are those cookies??
