In community album: Bowling
Bowling lane cake for my DD's bowling party. Done in buttercream since she doesn't like fondant. I used a ball tool over viva paper towels to make the gutters. Used the basket weave tip upside down to make the boards for the lane then smoothed with a viva towel. Bowling pins & plaque made from gumpaste. Lettering, bowling ball and mini bowling ball border made from black fondant. I used a WASC cake (one box recipe), baking a 9 x 13 & 6 inch square from that and cut the 9 x13 in half so I had 2 pieces about 9 x 6 and lined them up to make a 6 x 24 lane. There is a block of foam covered with black fondant at the end to allow the pins to stand up out of the cake on the wires.
