In community album: Anniversary
This cake is flying to Puerto Rico today to celebrate my uncle's wedding anniversary tomorrow. The filling is my usual favorite; Almond scented cake with Amaretto Espresso filling. Made a 4, 6 & 8" all covered in fondant. Red gumpaste roses. Used beads bought at a craftstore for the monogram...Much easier than I thought!

Thanks..it should be fine...The flowers are in a cushioned shoe box and the cakes are in a flat box that'll fit under the seat.

Wow Godiva, this is amazing, such perfection. Your roses look real.

Beautiful Godiva! Did it get there safely??

Well, the top of the 8 " cake cracked where I had placed the 6" for the picture, probably due to the altitude. Now, the humidity really affected the cake and the flowers. By the next day, the fondant was "sweating" and very soft, and the flowers were gummy. Placed them in the air conditioned room for about 30 minutes and it tighted up again and was able to set up and present. However, it only took about 10 mins before it softened up again. Everyone loved it though ;-)
