Disaster Cake??

well, having the entire day off and knowing i only had to make a sheet cake for work, i thought simple, i'll do it "later". well, 10pm rolls around and i'm just getting the cakes out of the oven....ugg. i made one chocolate 1/2 sheet and one yellow 1/2 sheet, cut them in half, put cc frosting in the center of the yellow and choc bc in the chocolate. meanwhile, we're now pushing 11.30pm and my creativity is not exactly what it could be had i started this venture earlier in the day. so, I frost it with vanilla buttercream and draw a blank as to how to decorate it. I got those candy dots on sheets like when you were a child and put them on the center, wrote the names of the bday boys in black (ugg) and write happy birthday in the centerblah! now Im staring at a VERY boring looking cake with a bunch of space on the top. being one to use candy decorations as fillers, I thought Swedish fish! everyone loves them and theyll take up the space. Needless to say, this is one of the dorkiest cakes Ive ever done and it was sooooo heavy when I was delivering it that the bc cracked between the split of the choc/yellow cakesugg. oh well, lesson learned.PLAN AHEAD!!! ha!
