Cartier Meets Burberry

For a couple on their 12 1/2 year wedding anniversary, their friends wanted to do something special. They didn't have a specific idea, but showed me the family wapon and told me how they love things like Cartier and Burberry. They wanted a very stylish cake, yet personal. I decided to make a combination of things they had told me about this couple and made the family wapon the center piece on the cake. It was a really difficult job to make the wapon. I cut out everything by hand (out of fondant which I first coloured to match the colours in the wapon), than united all the small pieces. I than handpainted the wapon with blue luster dust and a drop of wodka. The old fashioned pink colour with which the cake was coverd, is actually also the colour which 'shades' through the family wapon. I made the burbery scarf with a little help from my pasta machine, which made the work ever so easy! This way I could roll out the fondant very thin and I made the smaller red lines with the tagliatelli part. Good tip!!! The Cartier watch was actually inspired here on CC. Looks difficult but I found it was really easy to make, although it's not so pretty as I've seen here on CC, but it was kind of a last minute request and I only had a day to make the whole cake. Double chocolate with chocolate ganache and cherry filling. (own recipes). Everything is edible except for the little silver buckle with the scarf. Thanx for looking.
