This I sent to my Husband on his birthday while he was deployed. They are easy to make and the troops LOVE them!

I used canning jars, sterilized them and filled them half way with cake batter and baked in the jars at a 350 degree oven for about 20- 30 minutes. As soon as they come out of the oven using oven mitts screw on the lids and when they cool it will make a ping sound and that means they are sealed and ready to go. I usually send a small squeeze packet of frosting with the cakes.
