This cake was made for Carlos and Donna Royal in San Marcos CA who hosted a live video stream of two barn owls, Molly and McGee, mating and raising their four owlets in an owl box in the Royal's backyard. Molly is in the foreground waiting for her yongest, Wesley to come out of the box. Molly is made of RKT with fondant and the owl box is a comb of cake, RKT and sytrofoam boards covered in modelling chocolate with gumpaste roof shingles. Not sure if birds count for this contest by I'll enter anway!
