this is a cake that i made for my friend daniel's 18th birthday. he is one of the most wonderful guys i have ever known and i was completly happy and both definitions of anxious to make this cake for him. the cake consists of 3 tiers made to look like a stack of his favorite books starting with the sun also rises by ernest hemingway on the bottom, fahrenheit 451 by ray bradbury on the next tier up and finally to kill a mocking bird by harper lee on the top of the cake. the top of the cake has a quote from the book. i also included a a 3D mocking bird made of fondant (my first time ever using fondant) to represent the bird in the book and also because he has a tattoo of the bird. all in all i think it turned out pretty ok. he liked it and thats all that matters. happy birthday daniel <3
