In community album: Gingerbread Houses
I made this cake for my sister-in-law. She lives in Wisconsin and we're in NJ. She's in the process of adopting 3 children and since most of our friends and family hadn't met them my mil had a party for them yesterday. This is the cake I came up with...please ignore the awful handwriting on the cake....I thought my regular left handing handwriting is bad? It's 10x worse with an icing bag in hand!!!

very cute...kudos to her for taking on 3 at one time. we have taken on two teenage boys, they are the same age but we got them a year apart and it has been a difficult transition.

That was a very thoughtful thing to do I am sure it made them feel welcome. how old are they? The house is precious is that m&m's?

they are 7,5 and 3 years. They loved the cake! It's mini m&m's...what a pain to put them all on but I think the regular ones would have over-powered the house.

I've also used the wilton printing stencils and I gotta say, they do work. My writing is not so nice either (although yours is) and that really helps.

Thanks for all the comments. I actually have the stencils but I didn't use them this time...I'm really trying to do without them. Plus I wasn't sure if I would have enough room if I did use them.
