Sydney's Flip Flops

For my daughter's 7th birthday party. She picked out all flip flop decorations and wanted 'watermellon' flip flops for her cake. Her expression when I was finished was priceless. TFL!

Meljce - I actually used one of my size 9 flip flops as my template. I just traced it onto some thick cardboard and then used the cardboarrd to cut out the cakes.

What did you use for the straps? It is beautiful!

The straps are made of gumpaste. I actually have a pair of flip flops I've never worn and I use them. I cut out gumpaste strips then lay them over the flip flops straps and let sit overnight.

I used Deep Pink (Americolor) for the pink icing. Neon Green for the green stripes and green icing.
