My wife and i have only been decorating cakes since august. This was my first cake show entry. I won first in my division of adult beginner sculpted cakes.
the cakes are stacked. i used a 4X2 pan. the legs and waist are the cake stand decorated as part of the uniform. there is a dowel going up the middle for stability. the cakes are carved slightly to give physical features and icing and fondant werer used to cover them. the arms are large dowels in this one for holding the flag, the flags are fondant laid flat a dired out to hold shape.
