Coach Purse

Coach Purse on Cake Central

My 2nd attempt at a purse cake. As usual, I ran out of time to do everything I wanted to do to it, so I had to improvise, but I think it still came out pretty good. Covered in fondant with all fondant accents, even the zipper & zipper pull.

This is fantastic! Great details and I love the shape! What size cakes did you use and how did you go about carving it?

Thank you for your nice compliments everyone! I used a 9x13 cake, cut it in half, placed them side by side and just started carving until i got the shape I liked. :-)

Beautiful! Absolutely Perfect! Do you mind sharing instructions? I have to try my hand at this. I know it won't come out as good as yours, but I'll try.

Use the 3-d/molded cake recipe found on this site, freeze the cake before you cut it, measure EVERY single piece of fondant you cut. ( best results that way). I placed lollipop sticks at the very edges to keep the corners from sagging. I pressed a strip of fondant onto an actual unused zipper, then pained it with brown food coloring, then gold highlighter dust for the tooth section. Sads, I'm sure yours will come out fantastic!

I did them freehand, but that was the part I like the least. next time I will make sure I have enough time to do them better. Thanks though!! :-)
