My son's birthday cake. He is obsessed with Legos and wanted a Power Miners cake with rock monsters...but when I showed him a drawing of a 'mining cake' with small sugar paste monsters on it--he explained that he wanted the CAKE to be a rock monster. This is my attempt to make that request come true. He loved it and I guess that is all that matters. Cake was chocolate with buttercream icing and fondant. We added rock candy (as crystals) in its mouth and round the base when we set it up. (We held up an actual Lego Rock Monster next to the cake in one of the pictures to compare to the cake.)
