Alice In Wonderland Cheshire Cat Wedding Cake
This was SO much easier to do in buttercream! I'll never go back to struggling to cover these tiers in fondant!!
Did the wild colours with Americolor dyes, fondant detailing. Cheshire cat in gumpaste. Pearls in fondant dusted with irridescent powder.
Cake is Pistachio with Passionfruit buttercream, Dark Chocolate with Grand Marnier buttercream & Banana with Coconut buttercream.
Great job!!! Amazing!! How do you do this with BC without mucking it up putting it together??
Great cake. It's so smooth, it really looks like fondant!
Freeze it for 2-3 hours before transporting it. When you assemble (I only do assembly on-site), slides together like a dream!
This is absolutely AWESOME... such a perfect whimsical cake! :)
Beautiful cake !
Awesome!! The colors are perfect together!
This cake is just perfect! I thought it was fondant. Into my favorites!

I am in total awe of this cake. It is fantastic! So very well done.
this is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! i'm not that crazy about fondant either, so i'll try something like this with the buttercream. however, i found a receipe to make fondant with marshmellows---that might be easy for the shapes... we'll see. beautiful cake!
I love this cake........I have yet to make one of these topsy turvy cakes....but I am gonna try one for my daughters birthday in December...........if you could email me with any tips on how to do this I would appreciate it!
BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! Your flavors sound awesome!!!!
Yet again another perfect cake! Passionfruit BC, GM BC? Is there a recipe for these or are they flavorings used? Sound great, was it the customer choice? Did you taste and like? :detective:
Wonderful! I love the cheshire cat! ;-D
Oh my gosh! I'm dumb founded.
Wow I just keep coming back! I can't get over how cool this is. Just tried my first topsy turvy cake. Didn't turn out this good. Did you hollow out your cakes so that they are sitting on a flat surface, or are they really setting up like that? Great job! P.S. thanks for the sites.
Wow this is so cool!!! I tried a tilted cake once and it was a disaster....i also looked of the site instructions....any other tips you can give me?? :) thanks

WOW, Great job! I'm soooooooooooooooooo impressed!
This cake is AMAZING! Such nice clean lines. I want to do one of these for my husband's 30th the beginning of November. Any tips on how to get mine looking REMOTELY like yours?! What sizes did you use? Thank you for any advice you can give me.
Sorry Ginadeca, I promised my business partner that I would not share the recipes. It took us so long to test the recipes when we first got started in business. And Mollielor, there is a tutorial for Topsy Turvy cakes on this site, under the Articles tab at the top of every page. It's a great explanation for the technique! My pans were 6"/9"/12"
absolutely adorable!
Question. I am new to cake decorating. Could you use dowel rods for this construction? If not, what do you use?? Awesome job on the cake!
I'm in love with this cake! I love the cheshire cat!! That was my favorite movie as a kid!
Alice in Wonderland is the greatest book ever, and that cake is awesome. I can't believe its not fondant all over that. So smooth, an excellent job.
I did use wooden dowels for this construction, yes. Wooden dowels hold up each tier and then I drove a long sharp wooden dowel down the centre (right through each cake board and into the 1/2" thick cake drum on the bottom.) That holds it perfectly!
Not only is it beautiful but the inside sounds DELICIOUS! Wish I could've had a piece!
GIRL YOU ARE BADDDD!!!!!
this is so cute!! 8O
very cute!
e-mail me with directions please!!!! [email protected]
Sorry, I don't have specific "directions" for my cakes and certainly nothing typed up....but you are welcome to PM me questions you have and I"ll answer!
Okay, I'm totally new at this, but want to make a topsy-turvy cake for my daughter's first birthday! I'm a cake novice, at best, but am willing to try! My question is: How do you get the actual cake layers in that "askew" shape? Is there a special pan, or what? Help me please! 8O
Antonia....WOW!!! I have been making cakes for my family for about a year! So they are pretty easy to please. My best friend has twins and they are wanting a "crooked cake". Any advice/help you can send would be great. Others mentioned directions on CC....how do I track those down? Thanks! [email protected]

:) Excellent job, congratulations.
Wow! You. Are. GOOD. That's all I can say
You freeze the cake with the frosting on it? Then assemble?
I don't freeze it solid. After icing the cake, I just chill the tiers in the freezer for a few hours before I deliver/assemble it. It's super-cold but not frozen solid at all.
hi i really love your cake, can u please email me your directions and recipe for your cakes? thanks in advance!!! [email protected]
I don't have any written directions and I'm not sharing our company's recipes at this time, sorry. My business partner wouldn't like that!
I love it.
