Letterman Jacket Graduation Cake

Letterman Jacket Graduation Cake on Cake Central

The jacket is a 9x13 sheet cake. The cap is a 6"rd and 1/2 sport ball & I used the Wilton football pan. All is covered in fondant. This was very fun to make and I was pleased with the results. Thank you to everyone who answered my questions about fondant and how to store a cake once it's covered.

I love this cake! How did you do the sleeves?! They look great!! I have a reunion cake I'm working on and I'm wanting to make a jacket but I haven't figured out how to do the sleeves.   Thank you in advance!!

Thank you for the compliment.  The sleeves are made of all fondant.  They are rectangles of  fondant that are draped across the cake and tucked under to form a sleeve shape.  Then I stuffed them with plastic wrap. Leave it in until you think they are sturdy enough to hold their shape once the plastic wrap is removed.    If you don't want to use Glad or Saran wrap, you can always use paper towels or kleenex to stuff you sleeves.  Hope this makes sense.  Let me know if you have any other questions.
