I never thought I would get the chance to make one of these, since most of the kids in my life are boys! This is a surprise cake for my friends niece who has just relocated to the area and is turning 26 today. It turns out she is a huge Barbie fan, and recently showed my friend a photo of a cake like this and said I wish I could have had a birthday cake like this when I was younger. So now she is getting one!

They wanted a blue dress that was not like Cinderella's, with pink and white too. All buttercream over a vanilla cake with raspberry BC filling.

I am glad I read the forums and got advice on the construction of this one I dont have the Wilton Wonder Mold pan so this is made of two 6 rounds and the top was baked into a pyrex bowl to get the necessary height (whole Barbie inside). TFL!
