I made this cake for my Mom's birthday just after taking my first decorating class, where I learned to make roses. The roses are royal icing and I used Marshmallow Fondant for the flower box. I had a little trouble with the fondant, but as it turned out those imperfections seemed to make the flower box look better when I added the wood grain painting to it. I am just getting into cake decorating and I love it. I have gotten so much inspiration from all of beautiful cakes on this sight that I thought I would share this one as I really like the way this cake turned out.
