I used 5 in. styro and cut in 18" round, then cut 2-1/2" foamboards and applied to both sides of 5in styro round w/ elmers glue. Let dry 24 hours. Wrapped with white lights w/ cord ending int he back, then I covered with white material using a staple gun, I attached the top first then the bottom. I used 4 yards of material on this. I'm pretty happy with it. Ramacake was very helpful with this. Thank you hun. TFL :)

Beautiful but I don't understand the 2 1/2" foam boards. Why 2 1/2" attached to the styrofoam and what shape are they?
916sweetcakes 5/5/10 at 4:04pm
wow! :D
Chippi 5/5/10 at 4:25pm
Threeforhim that is 2- (1/2") foamboards, applied to bottom and top of 5" styro round. They are round also. Thanks everyone, I'm happy to share this with you!

This is very pretty! I admit I am a little confused by your instructions as well  Did you cut two 18"rounds from 1/2" foam core, then put one on top of only a 5 in round styrofoam and one on bottom? I am wondering how large a cake could sit atop there when it seems to be supported mainly by a 5" round. Am I misunderstanding I am so sorry!
jawalleen 5/5/10 at 5:17pm
steffla, I think she means 5" in height x 18 round (that is what I have interpreted per the instructions and by looking at the picture).
