I just keep coming back to gaze upon the fabulousness!!! I am assuming that the professor was cut out, dried, and hand painted to perfection? You are truly an artist! This is my favorite out of the contest! Unbelievable imagination! Congratulations on such a wonderful piece!!!

I love this cake.. You captured it perfectly. I especially like the paint work on it. See how the oil or "dirt" has been running from beneath the hatches.. Fantastic detail!

This cake should have won. It's true to the Steampunk spirit.
AdahLael 5/14/10 at 5:50pm
:D I agree, this one should have won first place simply because it is the most aesthetically pleasing cake of the lot. Honestly I don't see what the judges saw in the first place winner as far as pure looks go. This is the winner here.

I just saw this on Cake Wrecks ... the Sunday Sweets (amazing cakes featured not wreck-y ones). To be among the few chosen to represent the best of this theme proves this cake should have placed first. What an amazing work of art!

I'm BRAND new to CC and when I saw there was a steampunk competition I had to go check out the cakes - I agree with slightlya - you should have won, hands down!
