I made this cake for my Advanced Patisserie and Display Cakes class this week. I used fondant, gumpaste and handcut and painted everything. It was a lot of fun to make and took about 6 hours.

Thank you! It was my first try and one of the first cakes I have done with fondant, so I was pretty pleased with how it came out.

Can you tell me how did you make the gears?

I made the cake at school and we don't have many specialized decorating tools. So make I used different sized circle cutters and piping tips. Took a bit of time, so I don't recommend it if you want to do a lot of them, but I'm not sure if there are specific cutters available either :)
