Thanks to all the other Shark cakes on CC for the inspiration.  I carved this from a 30cm loaf tin and a 4inch square, chocolate cake covered in white chocolate ganache and coloured fondant.

Sorry pressed enter too soon! I wanted to ask, what did you do to the cake board to make it look like water? Great job!

Hiya - Thanks! :) I covered the board in some left over ganache I had (coloured blue) and then just used the flat of my palette knife to form waves by flicking the knife up and down quickly using the flat side.. Hope that makes sense, I also reserved a bit of the white and then just dotted that around using the same technique. You could use buttercream, royal icing on this too. Seeya

Hi, I'm wondering if you could give me some detail to as how you made your shark. I'm thinking of using a piound cake (something heavier) so it stays together. would you mind sharing some of your tricks with me. thanks sharon
