Dad's Fish Cake
I did this cake for my Dad for his b-day. I'd never done a fish cake before, this is the first, it's what he wanted for his cake though! I probably shouldnt' have done the border under the face, it turned out sort of looking like a mustache lol!
This is really cute. I bet it must have been hard to do all of those scales. The border looks good and even if he does have a beard, he still looks like one happy fish to me!
lucky you. i love shopping at thrift stores to find old cake pans...i've been lucky lately and found a lot of older pans that you can't buy at the stores anymore. i'll have to look for that fish pan...my dad would flip if i showed up with a cake like this for his bday. :D

thank you! It was actually a fish cake pan shaped like that, believe it or not, I found it at a thrift store! The pic is kind of blurry, but I used a tip 104 for the scales on the back. I just wasn't so happy with the border, it gave him a bearded look
