This cake was for twin boys turning 4 and one of them loves Mario, one loves Bowser. I found pics on the internet, sized them to how I want (Bowser was only about 3 1/4" tall) and then traced them onto parchament paper. I then cut out every body part of the pictures and cut them all out of proper colored fondants, then pieced them together/layered them to create Bowser and Mario. It was sooooo time consuming, not really hard but it took forever! THe scenery around the sides, I freehand cut out of colored fondants. Absolutely everything was then outlined in black gel color/vanilla with a thin liner paintbrush. I wanted to use a food color marker but it wasn't dark like I wanted, nor thin enough for fine details. I was happy with the outcome of this cake! For some reason I didn't take a pic of the banners saying the boy's names in front of the characters. :/ Oh and the writing above Mario is how the lives look in Mario 3, so I gave them each 4 lives since they turned 4. I think the customer put some toys on top too at the party but I'm not sure. French vanilla cake with chocolate buttercream and all MMF. TFL!
