I made two of these flag cakes and 3 full undecorated sheet cakes for the VFW and American Legion Veterans Day lunches. They flipped over them, and said they weren't going to cut them!!!

    What do you attach your edible art to for your pictures and badges??? Gum paste??? Do you apply it before it dries or after???

    These are dried gumpaste circles, then I brush some piping ge; very gently on the back of the images and attatch.

    I think this is beautiful. My DD was upset not to see the USCG logo, though .... the forgotten part of the US Military .... Did you print the logos of the services on paper and attach? Or do you have an edible image machine? Thanks for sharing !!

    The images are icing images and Iam sorry, we had talked about the Coast Guard!!! Believe me they are appreciated!

    I just saw your cake and I have a request for a cake like this on Friday. Could you tell me how you made the american flag. I'm confused about how to make the red and white stripes look so neat. Your cake is absolutely gorgeous!!!

    Very nice job, BUt I am sure they decided they had to because there would be a lot of unhappy people not getting cake if they didn't.
