I wanted to try the diamond pattern, so I made this. I was pretty pleased in how it turned out. Pretty easy to do. Buttercream icing.

Very Nice Job! I just did my first impression mat over the weekend, but mine doesn't look as nice as yours - what is the secret?
No secret. Just get the frosing smooth, let it crust and lightly press it in. The smoother the frosting, the better it looks.
I'm jealous of your reverse shells.

any crusting buttercream, from shortening to cream cheese, any will work.

I enjoy the perfection of your cakes. I was also thinking of getting an impression but was not sure where to order it and what size. I also came across a metal cutter (diamond shape) and not sure which is better.
