Oh now I just LOVE this cake. What a great idea. I have to remember this one. You really done a super great job. Is your yarn b/c piped on or MMF run thru a clay gun? Also, would you care if I copied your design sometime?
The cake was a 9" 2-layer cake and then I used the sports ball pan for the balls. I used 7 and 8 tips to pipe the yarn. After I crumb coated the cake, I did the basketweave. Then I piled on the ball halves upside down (I didn't level the balls) and glued them where I wanted them with frosting. Then I just piped lines going in different directions. You'll be amazed how quick this cake comes together.
